NOTES:

  1. This table is a complete listing of 84 South African agencies ranked by awards in our 12 qualifying competitions. To correct any errors please email tkoenderman9@gmail.com. Qualifying competitions are (international): Cannes, The One Show, D&AD, Clio, Midas, Webbies; (local): Loeries, Bookmarks, Assegais, Ad of the Month, Ad of the Year, Pendoring
  2. Y&R was awarded 40 points for its Bronze Ubuntu entry.
  3. The column headed ‘Loerie totl’ carries the totals of the other six Loerie columns, and some information is duplicated. Avoid double-counting.
  4. Though FCB was a collaborator on a Gold Loerie won by its client, Coca-Cola, the entry form did not credit FCB, so its contribution is not recognised in this table.
  5. Though the AdReview points system is compatible with the Loeries system, there are some points of difference. In our system, collaborative partners are each credited with the full value of a win; in the Loeries system, the points are shared pro rata among the partners. So if two agencies collaborate and their entry wins a bronze, each agency is credited with the full points for bronze. We do not give campaign bonus points  to craft winners.
  6. We have adjusted the value of a Grand Prix to equalise it with the Loeries.
  7. Bonus points for campaigns are not the same in both systems.
  8. We include a wider range of participating agencies.
  9. Agences with less than 20 points are not included in the table, but are listed here: with 15 points – Luma Animation, Marcus Wormstorm, Studio Zoo, JWT Cape Town, Derrick; with 13 points – Discover Africa, Fogg Experiential, The Media Image, Creative Spark, RogerWilco.
  10. Tables showing the performance at each award are on our website, http://www.adreviewonline.com.
  11. An explanation of our evaluation system can also be found on the website. Essentially, awards competitions are valued according to how they compare with our benchmark competitions, Cannes (for international competition) and Loeries for South African competition). If the percentage of entries that win something is lower than the benchmark, its awards receive a higher valuation; and vice versa.

  2. For the first time we have included Millward Brown’s AdTrak survey results. A viewing sample representative of the h whole market reports monthly on all new TV commercials, scoring theirlikiing of each ad on as scale of 1-10. We have scored the first ad as a Grand Prix (80 points), 2-3 as Gold (37), 4-6 as Silver (14), and 7-10 as Bronze (6). Millward Brown publishes the results every quarter.
